Plate Identification

There are only two types of plates available from Alfa Laval, these are high and low theta.

High theta.

This has an almost flat 60° chevron pattern. This produces high turbulence

and therefore greater heat transfer capabilities. However, the pressure

drop will increase accordingly.

Low theta.

This has a sharp 35° chevron pattern. This produces lower turbulence and therefore less heat transfer capabilities. However, the pressure drop will

be reduced accordingly.
